Yes. If you are legally residing in Canada (on a PR card, work permit, study permit, or as a Canadian citizen), you can apply for a Schengen visa from Canada. You apply to the embassy or VFS Global centre of the relevant country in Canada. You do not need to return to Sri Lanka to apply.

A standard Schengen Type C visa allows you to stay for up to 90 days in any 180-day period across the entire Schengen Area. This is a combined limit — not 90 days per country. You can travel between Schengen countries freely during this time. Overstaying, even by one day, can result in a ban from future Schengen applications.

Yes — travel insurance is a mandatory requirement for all Schengen visa applications. The policy must cover a minimum of €30,000, include medical emergency and repatriation coverage, and be valid for the full duration of your stay in all Schengen countries. Applications without compliant insurance are automatically refused. We advise on policies that meet these requirements.

Yes. There is no mandatory waiting period before reapplying after a Schengen refusal. However, reapplying without addressing the reason for refusal will almost certainly result in another refusal. The refusal notice must state the reason — we read it carefully, identify exactly what concerned the officer (insufficient funds, weak ties, incomplete documents, etc.), and build a stronger reapplication. Multiple refusals make future applications harder, so it is important to get the reapplication right.

Each Schengen country sets its own guidance, but a common benchmark is approximately €50–100 per day per person for the duration of your stay. For a 2-week trip for two people, this means showing at least €1,400–2,800. However, the quality and stability of your financial history matters as much as the amount — a large recent deposit with no history is a red flag. We advise on how to present your finances clearly and credibly.

Most embassies accept a flight reservation or booking confirmation — not a fully paid ticket — since it would be unreasonable to purchase a non-refundable ticket before receiving a visa. However, the reservation must show realistic dates and routes consistent with your stated itinerary. Some embassies are stricter than others on this. We advise on what your target embassy requires.

Yes. Multiple-entry Schengen visas can be issued for 1 year, 2 years, or 5 years, allowing you to visit the Schengen Area multiple times without reapplying each time (subject to the 90/180-day rule per visit). Whether you are granted a multiple-entry visa depends on your travel history, purpose, and financial profile. First-time Schengen applicants are usually granted single or double entry. Subsequent applications with a good travel record are more likely to receive multiple-entry visas.
